OF THE SCHOOL CLUB PROGRAMME

The
member school will get 2 posters
every term for the library.

A
specially designed personal record book called I
Love Books
will be made available for Classes 1-5
at a discounted price (approximately Rs 15). The book aims
to encourage children, in
a friendly way, to record their
own comments and opinions
about books they read through the
year – to learn to look at
them more discerningly and
thereby appreciate them better.
Stickers add to fun. The three best maintained
record books, or
the best in each class, will be given
special certificates at the
send of the year.

The
school will get attractive discounts on all purchases from
the bookstore.

A
handbook for the librarian on ideas to make the library an
interesting place for children.

Information
and news related to books and authors for the library
bulletin board.

Teachers
from member schools will be given preference for
teachers'
workshops conducted by Goodbooks. Participation will be
limited to two teachers per school, unless specified otherwise.

For
Chennai schools:
A
Meeting Place — the Goodbooks' interactive sessions
with
personalities from different fields — will be
conducted once every term, 3 sessions a year,
exclusively
for the school. Special discounts on books will be extended
to children when they come to the bookstore for these
sessions.
For
schools outside Chennai:
Once a year,
special one-day
workshops
— one for teachers and one for children — will be
organised in the school. For this Goodbooks will charge no
extra fee. However, the fee of the resource person and other
actual expenses will have to be borne by the school.

Updated
information will be given on events and workshops at
Goodbooks, with posters and information leaflets to give out
to children.
These
facilities will be provided for an annual membership fee of Rs
2000. Several Chennai schools
have already joined in as members.
